Muddy ACCE Race

ACCE Opportunity too Good to Pass Up

Giles County, VA- The ACCE program has provided an opportunity for young people to explore post high school options for seven years. Many of these students find that the opportunity is too good to pass up. Today we hear a little insight from a first year ACCE student, Nathan Gilbert.

From Nathan: “My name is Nathan Gilbert, and I was homeschooled all the way through school. I can’t remember exactly, but I learned about the ACCE program shortly after I moved to Giles in 2015. There is a very good chance that I would not be going to college if it wasn’t for the ACCE program. Growing up, I never wanted to go to college, but the opportunities that ACCE offers are too good to pass up. I am getting an associate degree, focusing on business management. I hope to manage and own rental properties, and possibly a few other small businesses. I would like to thank the donors and the people who run the ACCE program. It is a great opportunity for people like me. I especially like that community service is a requirement. I am completing my hours at the Newport Ballpark, and it has been enjoyable, and I believe I have been a help maintaining the area, and also running programs.”
